The short version
Loops collects nothing, sends nothing, and has no network access of any kind. Everything you write stays on your device.
What we collect
Nothing.
Loops has no account, no sign-in, no server, and no analytics. The app contains no networking code, so there is no mechanism by which your writing could reach us or anyone else.
What is stored on your device
- Your loops and entries — questions, reasons, trail entries, predictions and outcomes. Held in the app's own local database and included in your device's encrypted iPhone or iCloud backup if you have backups turned on. That backup is between you and Apple; we have no access to it.
- One preference — a flag recording that the sample loop has been placed, so it is only ever placed once.
Live Activities
If you choose to carry a loop, that question is displayed on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island by iOS. This happens entirely on your device. Loops does not use push notifications, and nothing about a carried loop is transmitted anywhere.
Sharing a loop
The "Copy out" feature hands a loop to the iOS share sheet as Markdown. Where it goes from there is your choice and is governed by whichever app you send it to. Loops is not involved after the hand-off.
Tracking
Loops does not track you across apps or websites, does not use advertising identifiers, and does not include any third-party SDKs.
Children
Loops is safe for all ages. Because it collects no data, it collects no data from children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date. Since the app collects nothing, any change is likely to be a clarification rather than a new practice.
