Common questions

How does Poddington decide what plays next?

Each show you follow is either In order or Newest first. In order plays from the beginning, one episode after another. Newest first puts the latest episode on Home. You can change it per show.

Can I start a show partway through?

Yes. When you follow a show you can start from the beginning, from a season or with the newest episode. On a show’s page you can also pick any episode and choose Start the Show Here. Earlier episodes are skipped, not marked as heard, and you can bring them back.

Why does a show with seasons start at the latest season?

For shows with seasons, Poddington starts at the first full episode of the newest season, since that’s where most people want to begin. To start from season 1 instead, choose From the beginning when you follow it.

Does it work with my car and headphones?

Yes. Audio keeps playing in the background, and next and previous on headphones, the Lock Screen and car controls skip forward and back.

Do I need an account?

No. Everything stays on your iPhone. That also means there’s no sync between devices yet, and deleting the app removes the shows you follow.

A show is missing or won’t update.

Poddington reads each show’s public feed. If a show isn’t in search or stops updating, email me its name and I’ll look into it.
